About the event
The Denmark Vesey rebellion, and the subsequent trial of co-conspirators, has been a subject of study for historians for quite some time. Tom Russell; often a footnote in the histories of the rebellion, was considered the “armorer of the rebellion”. This uniquely curated walking tour will explore Vesey and Russell's relationship as well as Russell's long lasting ties in Charleston.
This walking tour will begin and end at the Capt. James Missroon House, 40 E Bay Street. Comfortable footware recommended. Space is limited and tickets are required.
