About the event
Kick off The 79th Charleston Festival in spectacular fashion at an unforgettable evening celebration set within the enchanting gardens of the Nathaniel Russell House—a National Historic Landmark and one of Charleston’s most architecturally significant homes. Completed in 1808 and the private home of merchant Nathaniel Russell and his family, the house is renowned for its free-flying staircase, precise Adamesque ornamentation, and remarkably preserved landscape, South of Broad. Its gardens, thoughtfully restored according to early 19th-century plans, provide a breathtaking backdrop for this year’s opening night festivities.
This signature event is more than a celebration—it is the kick-off event for the largest annual fundraiser supporting Historic Charleston Foundation. Every ticket directly strengthens the Foundation’s mission to advocate for a future for Charleston that honors and protects its people, places, culture, and community. Your participation helps safeguard historic neighborhoods, preserve landmark properties like the Nathaniel Russell House, support community initiatives, and ensure that Charleston’s unique heritage endures…
