Throughout its 350-year history, Charleston, South Carolina, has been shaped by courageous, visionary, and innovative women whose contributions helped define the city’s cultural, architectural, civic, and social landscape. In this engaging lecture, Valerie Perry, Interim Director of Museums for Historic Charleston Foundation (HCF), highlights the remarkable women who challenged expectations, led preservation efforts, strengthened communities, and pushed Charleston forward in times of change. Their stories reveal the resilience, creativity, and determination that have helped shape Charleston into the vibrant historic city it is today. Join us for an inspiring exploration of the women whose vision and leadership continue to influence Charleston’s identity across generations.
