Once a bustling trade route and center of commerce, King Street evolved into a vibrant residential and retail corridor. Its northern section highlights modest artisans’ homes that reflect the craftsmanship of the working class, while its southern stretches are graced with grand townhouses that showcase the prosperity of Charleston's elite.
