About the event

David Hoffman, a master craftsman and founder of Edgewood Builders, has been preserving Charleston’s historic architecture since 1979. In this program just for the Festival, David will draw inspiration, and examples, from his collection of 10,000 antique tools to both demonstrate, and share, his passion for traditional craftsmanship.


The Food for Thought Lecture Series includes a boxed lunch from Caviar and Bananas and is held in the Community Room, 3rd floor of the Capt. James Missroon House, 40 East Bay Street. A staple of our spring Festival, the Food for Thought Lecture Series is a chance to hear from some of our closest colleges and experts on a variety of Lowcountry topics and the Foundation’s mission-driven work in an intimate lecture series, with a sit down lunch.
