About the event
Bermuda stone was first used in Charleston by Bermudian immigrants and traders in the late 17th century and was imported in great quantities throughout the 18th century. Join Justin Schwebler, Preservation Manager at Historic Charleston Foundation, who will share the history of Bermuda stone’s importation, use, and locations in Charleston where it still exists today.
The Food for Thought Lecture Series includes a boxed lunch from Caviar and Bananas and is held in the Community Room, 3rd floor of the Capt. James Missroon House, 40 East Bay Street. A staple of our spring Festival, the Food for Thought Lecture Series is a chance to hear from some of our closest colleges and experts on a variety of Lowcountry topics and the Foundation’s mission-driven work in an intimate lecture series, with a sit down lunch. Space is limited and tickets are required.
